Holiday Market at the Toronto Botanical Garden

777 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto

For one weekend in late November 2022, Sergei Troshin had a vendor's table at the Toronto Botanical Garden Holiday Market. The market opened on Friday, November 25 from 2 to 8 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday, November 26 and 27, from 10 AM to 4 PM.

His display stood beside a Christmas tree hung with gold bows: the tall Sans Souci banner with his motto, “Through Colours To Places You've Never Been”, framed paintings clipped to a black grid in front of the windows, and a red-covered table with smaller framed pieces laid flat. In the middle of the grid hung Dream Ocean (2022), a cloud of fine coloured lines on deep blue, which went on to the Heintzman House show in 2025. Below it, still wearing its corner protectors, was Untitled 1, red and black on green, now in a private collection.

The garden still holds the market every year, now as the Holiday EcoMarket, with more than 100 local vendors across the Visitor Centre and the outdoor courtyards.

Since then he has shown at the Heintzman House Art Show in Thornhill every April from 2024, and at 105 Gibson Centre in Markham in October 2025 and 2026. To see Dream Ocean or any other available piece in person, call +1 (416) 919-8331 to arrange a viewing at the studio in Markham.
