About the "Abstract Variations" collection
This collection is where colour is allowed to lead. Rather than describing a place or an object, each canvas works through a single mood — a shift of light, a memory, a piece of music — and lets the palette carry it. Layers are built up, scraped back and rebuilt, so the surface itself becomes part of the image.
The pieces here range from quiet, close-toned studies to compositions that put warm and cold colour in direct conflict. They are painted with acrylic and mixed media, and many are finished with resin, which deepens the colour and gives the surface a still, glass-like calm.
Every work in this collection is an original — there is exactly one of each. Pieces marked Sold or Private Collection already belong to a collector and stay here as a record of the series. If one of them is close to what you are looking for, Sergei Troshin accepts commissions in the same spirit.
